DVD to AVI: how to rip and convert DVD to AVI format?
What is AVI?
Audio Video Interleave, known by its acronym AVI, is a multimedia container format introduced by Microsoft. AVI files can contain both audio and video data in a file container that allows synchronous audio-with-video playback. Since AVI is a commonly used file container, you may have many .avi files stored on your computer. We know that iPad doesn't support AVI video format, so we have to convert AVI videos to iPad format videos before transferring them to iPad.
Tool needed:
RipToo DVD Ripper - Rip and convert DVD videos to AVI format.
Steps:
- Download RipToo DVD Ripper, install and run it.
Mac users may download RipToo DVD Ripper for Mac .
- Add files.
- Click “Add Files” button to select DVD files for conversion.
- You also can load DVD files by File---Open DVD on the toolbar.
- Choose the output format.
- Preview the movie and choose chapters needed to convert and set their output format in Target Format.
- You also can click "Profile" drop-down list at the bottom left of the RipToo DVD ripper window
to select the according output format one by one.
- Set output parameters. You can set the output effect by Profile Settings---Advanced Profile Settings, on the top right of the RipToo DVD Ripper window.
- Choose output folder.
- Click "Browse..." button to choose a folder for saving your converted AVI files.
- You can also click "Browse..." button to create a new folder for saving the converted files.
- Convert. Click the “convert” button
to convert the checked files to AVI format. You can check the converting process in “status” column.
